The Bond County Health Department has reported statistics since the COVID-19 pandemic began to worsen in 2020. A great deal has changed since then. The State of Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), in January, assumed a good portion of our contact tracing and data tracking. This will result in making the data the Bond County Health Department can provide to you locally being incomplete and less reliable. However, there is good news. You may visit https://dph.illinois.gov/covid19/data/data-portal.html for all the latest data by county, as compiled by IDPH. While daily numbers and test positivity are still important to consider, especially when they are high, it is good to be mindful that those numbers can be skewed by factors such as how often we are able to test and positive cases not being reported. What is more indicative of our region’s current state is the ICU bed availability, as those who become seriously ill with COVID, or other illnesses, need these beds.

The Bond County Health Department will continue to provide testing, vaccinations, contact tracing in certain instances and guidance moving forward. As always, please do not hesitate to call us with questions or concerns 618-664-1442. We are here to help!
